Ukombozi Women’s Group

Ukombozi Women Group

The Project

The Ukombozi Women’s Group supports twelve women who all live in the village of Maji ya chai. The group was founded in 2018 by Mama Yasinta with the support of the Duluti Green Foundation. The UWG was set up to help the women become financially independent, making their living by working on different projects. These include making beads, keeping livestock, cultural dances for tourism, and various agricultural activities. At its heart, the project focuses on equal economic empowerment for the participants. Most women in this project are widows or have unemployed husbands.
