Description
The Marangu route, often called the "Coca-Cola" route, is the most established and classic path up Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the only route on the mountain that offers hut accommodation instead of camping, making it a popular choice for those who prefer sleeping in a bed and dining in communal halls. The trek typically takes five or six days and follows a well-maintained trail that ascends through the rainforest and moorland to the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. While it is the most direct route to the summit, the ascent is steady and provides a unique social atmosphere as you share the experience with fellow climbers in the huts.
Our professional mountain crew ensures that your Marangu climb is safe and well-supported. We provide all meals, prepared by a mountain cook, and our porters carry your luggage so you can focus on the trek. The summit push usually begins in the middle of the night from Kibo Hut, reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise for an unforgettable view over the African continent. Our guides are highly experienced in pacing the group for the best possible acclimatization. Whether you choose the 5-day or 6-day option, the Marangu route offers a historic and comfortable way to challenge yourself on the world’s highest free-standing mountain.
