Kukua Pamoja Tanzania

The Project

The Kukua Pamoja project was founded by Ayoub Patrick Hassan in 2022. This non-profit organization is dedicated to an after-school project that aim to empower young children and teenagers through football. The goal of the executive director Ayoub is to help youths not only to improve their football skills but also to learn how to behave in a community, how to work in team, inspiring them to be active and passionate with energy and enthusiasm. Kukua Pamoja counts 55 involved children, from 7 to 20 years old. They have football training in two groups, youth from 7-15 years and the older ones from 16-20 years, who focus more on professional football skills. All together they enjoy theoretical football training on Saturdays. Sometimes there are also matches at the weekends. The project currently tries to organize an own yearly match in November.

Schedule:

The working days are from Monday to Friday.

From Monday to Friday work start at 4 pm and ends at 6 pm. Volunteers will work at the football field training youth. On Saturday morning from 10 – 12 children attend theory football lesson in the office of the project. The volunteers can, but don’t have to join this lessons.

The field where the training is held is located 10 minutes walking from the Kukua Pamoja building.

Daily activities include:

Exchange cultural experience with children
Share new knowledge and experiences with children
Teach the kids how to play football
Plan and prepare football training sessions
Teach the children about fairplay

Experience required:

This project does not require any previous experience. The foundation welcomes all volunteers and appreciates their ideas and support. It is important that you know how and like to play football.

Location:

The office is located 4,5 km from the hostel and can be reached by using public transports.

Project length

The minimum stay is two weeks. Due to visa regulations you can spend a maximum of two years as a volunteer in Tanzania.
