Accommodation & Board

The volunteer hostel is located in a local but safe neighbourhood. You will be living together with other volunteers and interns in your own small house, which guarantees you some privacy. On the same compound our Nyumbani Hostel Arusha is based. In the main house we will have breakfast and dinner and spend time all together daily. The house is located 25 walking minutes from the city centre. Motorbikes and dala dala (mini buses) for transport are available everywhere. Although the house is close to the busy town the house is surrounded by a green, quite environment. The garden offers space to relax and play with our lovely dogs. A more than two meter high wall, the dogs and a 24/7 guard will make sure you are safe.

Since October 2017 we moreover offer you the experience of staying with one of our tanzanian host families within the time of your volunteering. It is a totally different experience to stay in an tanzanian family and you will get a closer insight in the daily way of living here. All of the family members are able to talk to you in English, the family will provide you with your own and lockable room and the houses are situated in a secure and safe neighbourhood. In case you are interested i staying in a host family we will provide you with more information after you have let us known in the registration form.
