The Project
Perfect Vision is a women’s empowerment organisation based in Arusha, Tanzania. The organisation was founded in 2019 by an inspiring woman called Mama Happy who lived a hard life, but still dedicated herself to helping others in whatever way she could. Perfect Vision Women believes that our living conditions should not define who we are as human beings. Contracting HIV should not further increase the weight of an already significant burden, be it through economy or social isolation. And a monthly menstrual period should not pull children out of school. P.V.W.T believes believe they can’t do this initiative and succeed without outside help from all corners of the world: their own community, volunteers local and international and the Tanzanian government support.
From the mamas in their organisation, to the girls out of school on their periods, no one is left behind. This is the power of Perfect Vision. Their influence reaches far beyond the ten women from Perfect Vision organisation, it reaches the community. The fight for women’s equality has a long way to go here. Their sanitary pads are simply one step on a larger journey towards female empowerment and a community that support one another. This is our vision for Tanzanian society – a “Perfect Vision”.
